In God I Trust

Without trusting in God, we will never be able to receive from Him.

Key Points

  • Lack of trust creates a wall that separates us from God’s love.
  • Trust comes
    • In hearing – the more we hear people and understand where they’re coming from we can trust them.
    • In observing – when we see how they live, we can understand and trust.
  • Faith and trust are not exactly the same thing.
    • Faith: Believing that God is
    • Trust: Believing that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
      • Trust is what keeps us going back to the Lord and obeying Him.
    • Trust is defined as a bold, confident security, or actions based on that security.
      • Trusting in God means that we can rely on His goodness.
        • This leads to peace in every circumstance – we can trust God to take care of us.
      • Trust in God is built through interactions with Him (our prayers, His response, etc).
      • Faith, by contrast, is a gift from God, given at the time of salvation.
