How to Stay Connected to God – Part II

Key Points

  • We may think that we are connected to God, that nothing can separate us, but we may not always be as connected as we thought.
    • Peter & the disciples all swore that they would never be made to stumble when Jesus said He’d be executed.
      • They all ran
    • Don’t be complacent
      • The lazy man’s vineyard gets overgrown with weeds, and crumbles to ruins.
  • Signs we’re not connected
    • The following progression in our lives:
    • We get away from our first love (Jesus).
      • We’ve replaced Him with ourselves.
      • Things are done out of religious obligation, not out of love
      • Tell Him daily that we love Him.
      • Ask Him to help keep the love fresh.
    • We become lukewarm.
      • No zeal, no rush to Him; we can take Him or leave Him.
      • Repent; ask for His fire and zeal.
    • Our hearts turn cold.
    • We don’t endure sound doctrine.
      • We look for people to preach to us things we want to hear
