Spiritual Warfare Part II

Satan is still active and adversarial, but he can’t attack and destroy the lives of believers without permission. We need to be on guard – the devil was able to snare one of the twelve who walked with Jesus personally into doing his will. If we aren’t wise and on guard, we too could be snared.

One of his goals is to remain hidden. He doesn’t want anyone to know he exists – doing anything that could expose him will probably invite an attack.

It is important that we don’t fear the devil, but we need to be aware of him. Unlike God, he’s not all-powerful, all-seeing or all-knowing. He’s not capable of creating anything – he can only copy what God has already done.

  • He has his own church
  • He has his own gospel
  • He has his own doctrines
  • He has his own communion supper

How do we become vulnerable to the wiles of the devil?

  • Right after we have an experience with God
  • At the beginning of a new spiritual endeavor
  • When we become weak
  • When we’re alone and out of fellowship with other believers
  • When someone unexpected is being used as a tool of the devil
  • He will always wait for an opportune moment
