Entering God’s Rest

When we’re using our hands, God can’t use His. We often try to live godly lives in our own strength, but fail miserably. By faith in Christ, however, we can do all things and have victory in all areas. When we’re in faith, life’s problems aren’t causes for concern, but opportunities to watch the Lord work in those areas.

The goal of the enemy is to bring us into circumstances that will cause us to submit to fear, forcing us to take action to save our lives. Jesus called us to take up our crosses and to lay down our lives, even telling us that “whoever seeks to save his life will lose it.” Faith, hope and love alone can bring us to a place where we are willing to stop trying to save our lives.

Fear comes from a lack of knowledge. Not knowing what is going to happen or how something will turn out causes a great deal of fear in our lives. This in turn causes us to be out of God’s rest and out of faith. This is Satan’s ultimate goal. This can come from a hardened heart – it is very important that we guard our hearts. Be obedient to the Lord – rebellion against Him leads to hardening of our hearts.

Be aware, that when you commit to following the Lord’s will, the enemy will try to bring circumstances into your life to get you off track. For example, when you commit to be a faithful tither, the devil will try to bring about financial hardships. When you commit to be in fellowship with the body regularly, he will try to make sure something comes up every Sunday.
