The Holy Spirit – Part IV

In a wedding ceremony, all eyes are on the bride. When she is arrayed in splendor, she brings glory to the groom. When the church is victorious in the midst of the storm, it brings glory to Christ. When we complain and murmur in the storm, it brings us further away from Christ – it does not bring victory nor glorify Him.

The Holy Spirit is crucial to our success and life during a storm. Our spiritual senses need to be sharpened and attuned to what the Spirit is doing. We cannot afford to be caught up in religious tradition – it will not get us through the storms of life as there is no life in it. When we make a confession of faith, believing in our hearts then the Holy Spirit will move in and clean out the mess. He knows how to build our lives (His temple) in the most optimal fashion. He alone can turn our lives into something that glorifies Him.

Having a generator in a natural storm provides electricity to power your house. When you find a place that has power during a bad storm, you won’t want to leave. The Holy Spirit is like a generator to our spiritual houses – He provides the power that allows our lives to function during the worst of the storms. When we are connected to Him, we won’t want to leave.

Paul would often pray for wisdom for the church. This wisdom comes by the Holy Spirit when we ask.
