The key to weathering the storm is to build our lives on something greater than what we can see, think or feel in the natural. It is to build our lives on Jesus, the rock. If our lives are built upon that rock, then it doesn’t matter what is going on in or around us – we can be in a place of peace and prosperity.<\/p>\n
The church is an extension of the government of Heaven, here on earth. When we look at life from that point of view, we begin to take authority over the storms of life, and don’t just let them roll over us. The storms will try to bring fear upon us – we need to use our authority to rebuke the fear.<\/p>\n
Part of building our lives on the rock is to take Jesus’ yoke upon ourselves. That means that we do what Jesus does and say what Jesus says. He never complained about circumstances of life, He didn’t give them a higher place than they deserved. He acknowledged them, but He also took authority over them and dealt with them. Just as God commanded Joshua, we need to make sure that the Word doesn’t depart from our mouths – meaning we need to keep speaking what God says, not what those around us say.<\/p>\n
