When we are born again, we have become new creations in Christ. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that brings this about. We need to beware of resisting and offending the Holy Spirit.
- Resisting Him
- Stubbornness – refusal to follow His guidance.
- Being “uncircumcised in heart and ears” – active refusal to listen to the voice of the Spirit
- Grieving Him – bitterness, anger, unforgiveness and division within the body
- Quenching Him – a result of continual resistance and grieving; He will be stifled
- Rejecting Him – willingly and knowingly continuing in sin, without repentance or desire to deal with it
