Time to Try

Scripture tells us that we have a part to play in our salvation – we are commanded to work out our salvation. We need to take care of our salvation, so that we don’t come short. We need to be like Peter. He took the step of faith onto the water with Jesus. He didn’t just wait in the boat – he moved. We need to be willing to take that step and know that Jesus will be there to catch us if we fall.

There was also the woman with the issue of blood. She had no other choice other than to try to push through the crowd and get to Jesus. She wasn’t going to blend into the crowd – she was going to do what she had to do. We can’t afford to blend in either. We need to try – to step out onto the water like Peter.

Our outward actions and expressions should be the evidence of our inward relationship with Jesus.
