We Are Well Able to Overcome It

We are called to be overcomers of “it”. When we are living in defeat, we don’t bring glory to God – being in victory is what brings glory to God. Just knowing God’s love and goodness isn’t sufficient to overcome. When the Lord opens up an opportunity to step into a place of victory, don’t wait – move quickly into it before there is a chance to be influenced by those who would bring you down.

God’s grace is what gives us the power to overcome anything and everything. Grace and peace both increase with our knowledge of God – that is with an intimate relationship with Him. His promises give us all things that pertain to life and godliness, however not everyone sees all things prospering in their lives. In His infinite love for us, the Lord gives us freewill – we can choose whether to walk in God’s promises. We can choose to continue to live as the world does and not see His promises come to pass, or we can choose to live according to His Word and see the promises.

When Israel went into the promised land, there were two and a half tribes that received an inheritance from Moses on the east side of the Jordan. Even though they already had victory, Joshua commanded that they help the rest of Israel achieve victory on their side of the Jordan. The church needs to function the same way – when we achieve our victories, come along side our brethren and help them achieve their victories.

If we aren’t seeing the promises of God in our lives, we need to consider our ways, as the prophet Haggai spoke to the Israelites.
