The Lord desires that we be bond servants – that we willingly give ourselves into His service. He will not force us to do anything, including living the abundant life. All things are permissible for us to do, but we should remember that we are bought at a price and that we belong to the Lord.
One of the forms of opposition comes at us externally in the spirit realm. As with Daniel, when we seek the Lord and petition Him the answer is sent immediately. There is, however, a battle in the spiritual realm to keep us from receiving that answer. If we were to get ahold of revelations sent from the Father, then we would do great damage to the enemy – he will oppose this. We need to keep on praying through until we get our answers.
The enemy attempts to operate against us directly. God gives us spiritual armor to wear in order to allow us to stand against the schemes of the enemy. However, in order for us to go deal with the enemy and fight the battle, the Lord first needs to tear down the strongholds that we’ve built up in our minds. These are fortified places that the Word and the Spirit cannot penetrate, and also from which wrong and misleading thoughts cannot escape.
