One of the means by which Satan can defeat a believer is through a lack of understanding on the part of the believer. Jesus tells us that if we don’t understand the word, the enemy can come and steal it from our hearts.
In general, the devil influences believers in very subtle ways to try to convince them to operate outside of the Word of God
- He’ll use the unbelieving world around us as well as the sinful desires of our own hearts.
- He will attempt to deceive us with worldly wisdom.
- He will distort the gospel and present it in a deceitful manner.
- He can afflict people with sickness and disease.
